is enjoying a slice of coconut cake that my sister made. Best. Cake. Ever.
stayed out until 3 AM; then decorated until 5 AM. Awoke to Zander at 7AM exclaiming, “This is SO COOL!” Went back to bed until now. Tired.
is getting ready to meet w/client. After:order a cake, pick up gifts, clean house & get decorations out before going out w/the girls 2night.
is hoping that May remembered she promised me an easy flat run this morning, and that my ankle doesn’t flare up again. Brrr…
is smiling, even though I’m overwhelmed, because I was reminded last night of one of the multiple reasons I fell in love w/Doug.
is a bit overwhelmed. Wrong time for swim class last night. 2 parties for Zander. Making costumes. Web server down. Work. *DEEP BREATH*
just showered. Need to get stuff ready for the ZBoys swim class. Can’t believe I spaced the 1st one on Monday!
@gamookie That’s how Richie Cunningham did it on Happy Days. Or was it Potsy?
Despite my complaining about being uber busy and also getting old, life is good.
I IM’d with Fran yesterday, and then had him call me so that he could hear Zevan play the piano - the melodies of Star Wars Main Theme and The Imperial March. That was fun. I took the boys to the park for a playdate, and then they played with each other instead of the kids we went there to meet up with. It was a beautiful afternoon - sunny and moderate. Perfect fall weather.
I had a great night last night at the climbing gym. I was able to do the bouldering route all the way around and over the cave when I came in fresh.
The whole front wall was set with new routes, and we tested the ratings on a few. We knocked down a few as easier than rated, bumped one up as harder than rated and found that the 11 and 11- were both dead on.
Good times.
After climbing, we went to Ruby Tuesday for some grub, and as the hostess led us back to our table, my happy song was playing in the dining room.
Sweet.
And May and I just gabbed. About her trip. About programming stuff. About life. We laughed a lot, as we tend to do. And we made plans to run this morning
I came home earlier than usual so had time to watch an episode of Fringe with Doug. I really like that show. The writers on that show are sharp - John Noble’s character, Dr. Walter Bishop, is my favorite part of that show. HILARIOUS!!! Love it.
I stayed up late watching more TV and went to bed at a reasonable 12:20 AM.
And today I’m having a fun time on Facebook catching up with the family and friends on the East Coast - cousins and all.
Yep. Life is good. Sometimes stressful, sometimes hectic, definitely full, but good.
working after a cold windy run/walk with May & Tiffany in GOG. And frustrated with some new injuries.
finished sewing Wario’s overalls except for the buttons. Heading out to the climbing gym and then Ruby Tuesday for some girl time!
Boo at the Zoo was a success. It was fun seeing all those kids in costume and hearing a lot of enthusiasm about getting a comic book! instead of candy.
We dressed as the Fantastic Four every night. The boys did great. Doug took them home early on Saturday night, but they stayed from set up until breakdown on Friday and Sunday nights.
The weather was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
A huge thanks to the Jacksons for helping on Friday night, the Jensens and Mike Coco for helping out on Saturday night and the Wolfes for helping out on Sunday night! We could not have done it without you!
There was also a small matter of the race on Sunday - that’s a story in and of itself.
The next phase is Zander’s birthday. I actually was very lucky this year and found Mario Bros party supplies online. I ordered them and they are actually here already. Yay for me!

I bought some Mario figures on eBay to put on a cake. So this week I need to order a cake with a Mario game-like background to put them on. I can re-use some of the decorations from Zevan’s Yoshi party, too.
Friday night, I’m going out with Tiffany to celebrate her 40th birthday. I just hope to stay sober enough to put up the decorations when I get home.
I set a precedent in previous years, and the boys, especially Zander, expects to wake up on his birthday with the dining room transformed into his birthday party theme. I LOVE doing it and LOVE the look on their faces when they come downstairs and see it for the first time.
We’re hosting a small family birthday party on Saturday at the house. Then on Sunday, Zander and his friends are going to ArtSports for his birthday party with his friends.
Meanwhile, to prepare for Chapter 3 of the busiest month, I need to get cracking on the Halloween costumes. I have cut out and pinned Zevan’s Wario overalls - I just need to sew it together. Then I need to Zander’s Mario overalls. I’m still looking for a pink puffy sleeve dress for me to be Princess Daisy, but my search so far has been unsuccessful. Hmmm.
needs to get cracking on Halloween costumes and Zander’s birthday party decorations.
watched Heroes & Sarah Connor Chronicles with Doug, but ran out of time to watch My Own Worst Enemy together.
