I say that because when we got back from running errands today, the book was sitting propped up on the couch.
Doug said it was there when he got home, but Jerianne didn’t mention it to him, and I didn’t tell her that I was looking for it, so why would she display it like that?
OMG – so we can’t find Zevan’s favorite book of all time The Big Bug Search.
I told him I would order a new one (it’s an Usborne book that we ordered from Scholastic), but the newer versions have a blue or white cover and he wants his original one
Looks like this
Right now I have emails out to all the sellers on Amazon and AbeBooks asking them for that cover…
We spent an hour searching the house and cars yesterday… I had the grandparents check their houses and also checked Zevan’s classroom with no luck.
We have gotten HOURS out of these books with the ZBoys. It’s fun and challenging for Doug and I, too.
We have Great Undersea Search, Great Dinosaur Search, Great Animal Search, too. Of course, the Big Bug Search is Zevan’s all time favorite because he LOVES bugs…
Running on Sundays is difficult. I like sleeping in. I like having breakfast. Which means I have to wait 2 hours after eating to run. I’m not very motivated after that.
Luckily, Doug suggested a hike with the boys in GOG. So they dropped me off at the park entrance, and they headed over to Siamese Twins.
I thought it was cold, but it was really, really warm. After 5 minutes, I took off my sweatshirt hat and gloves and stuck them behind a rock for me to pick up on our way out.
I forgot my earphones, so I ended up doing a tempo workout with no music, having to watch the times to start/stop each interval on my own. That was just okay, but annoying to have to keep looking at the iPod to see how many minutes I had run.
Okay! I’m too tired to write coherently, so here’s what I got done today
1) Slept in
2) Had a late breakfast
3) Washed, dried, folded AND put away 3 loads of laundry
4) Did chores with Zevan
a) got all trash
b) picked up downstairs foyer
5) Wiped down my bathroom and boys’ bathroom
6) Programmed Canadian UPS shipping for Collection Drawer
7) Wiped down kitchen counter and appliances
8 ) Washed and put away one dishwasher load – did lots of handwashing
9) Played with PlayDoh with the boys
10) Greg and Joshua came over to hang out
11) Updated family website with recent photos
12) Updated this blog
So, I was supposed to meet up with Helen and some other gals from the Colorado Springs Women’s Running Group. I fell asleep early last night, and didn’t get all my stuff prepared.
So this morning was a “Where’s my hydration belt? Where are my keys?” kind of morning.
For some reason, I thought I had Helen’s cell number in my phone, so imagine my surprise when I got there and I didn’t!
I started around 8:20 AM and just went out Sinton to GOG, then did a small out and back in GOG and came back for 15 miles, took me just under 3 hours plus bathroom stops.
I’ve never been out that way before. I think I might have messed up because I ended up on the sidewalk of GOG Road. I don’t really like the Sinton Trail. It’s all paved. And it’s not very pretty. And there’s this spooky tunnel you go through. I think I’ll stick to the Greenway.
It was close to 5 miles when I got to GOG. Then I went out on the trails for additional mileage so that when I got back to the car, I would be done.
On my way back, it was getting colder and windier. Then, it snowed on me! I can’t believe how cold it got near the end. Brrr!
My hands are *still* cold. We’re headed out to the Aquatic Fitness Center to go swimming. I definitely need to get in the hot tub, even if it’s just for 10 minutes.
But, surprisingly, I felt pretty good near the end. I ran nearly the entire distance. It’s amazing with carbing up with Thanksgiving dinner and a good night’s sleep will do for you!
