Denver Children’s Museum
Today I took the boys out of school to go to the Denver Children’s Museum with my sister and Anderson, and Megan, Alexa and Paxton from the West Side Moms group.
When we got there, Zander had a massive tantrum and claimed he didn’t want to do anything. It was unbelievably frustrating after he had been all excited about going there.
It took about 30 minutes for him to turn his mood around. The rest of the time was actually fun. Whew!
We went first to the toddler area, which allows older siblings (over 4 years old) in and they get to wear a Big Kid apron and do the Big Kid activities (like magnetic letter tracing).
After the firetruck, we went upstairs to an area where you can build things out of recycled materials. Then we hit the forest room where the boys did crayon rubbings and stamping. We also built a tower of blocks with the caterpillar/butterfly and tadpole/frog lifecycles. Next we went to the art area where Zander used markers and scissors, and Zevan did more stamping.
After lunch we went back to the fire engine and then up to the basketball court. I was amazed at Zander’s ability. He was actually shooting baskets on the run. Pretty cool!
I really wish I had taken Zander when he was younger… he would have really enjoyed that toddler play area.
