At Zander and Zevan’s swimming class this morning, I decided to use that time to do my stretches and exercises for my sciatica. That felt good. Then we had lunch at Grandma & Grandpa’s house – a big Taco Bell lunch for me since I only had a few handfuls of trail mix for breakfast.
On my way home to work, I was passing by Glen St, so I decided that I would do a quick tempo run in the park. As I started off, I realized I was running too close to lunch time, but then I was committed to finishing. I ran 5k in 31:23. I have been mostly brisk hiking. That was the first time I had actually run continuously – I took 2 walk breaks at the 1 and 2 mile marks. Felt pretty good. I probably would have done better if I didn’t have lunch in my gut.
I had a really great entrainment with Dr. Audrey this afternoon. Very relaxing and she was commenting on how fit I look. That was nice to hear.
So, today I did several hours of yard work with my dad. Pulling weed, sifting the sandbox… some serious manual labor. We are going to mulch the side of our yard with free mulch from the city. We bought 2 big rolls of weedblock. We’ll probably finish up on Friday.
I actually felt pretty good today after yesterday’s hike to the top of Pikes Peak. My hamstrings are a bit sore, but overall, I feel good. I’m sure it will kick in tomorrow.
I started biofeedback therapy today for – ahem err… – stress incontinence. It’s not a chronic problem, but an annoying one for me. I found a brochure in my physical therapist’s office about this biofeedback treatment, so I’m giving it a try. It’s quite interesting. You have to insert this sensor in your – ahem – va-jay-jay and watch a computer screen as you contract your pelvic floor.
What else? Oh! I got my mountain bike and the tag-along for Zander tuned up and ready to go. I’ll give it a whirl and see how we do. I still haven’t figured out how to transport Zevan, though. I really don’t think I can mount a seat on the back tire over the tag-along. I’m hoping one of the other moms we ride with can put Zevan with your child in her trailer…
I’m tired. I need to take a shower and get some sleep.
