“I wish no one ever had to get sick”

March30

On Thursday, I took the boys over to Grandma & Grandpa’s for lunch as usual. Then Doug’s mom called to say that Zevan was complaining of a tummy ache and that his stomach was really hard. I figured he was gassy and suggested she do bicycles with his legs to help him out. Some time later she called me back and said that he threw up twice and had 2 dirty diapers and feels much better now.

Skip to later that evening, I’m at the climbing gym bouldering on my own (May’s out of town), and when I finish up to get ready to meet the girls at Marigolds, my phone rings. It’s Doug.

“Zander just threw up all over the place.” He asked for laundry advice, and said that Zander was losing it. I did not want to come home just for that. I suggested he put Zander in front of a movie or something.

When I got home Zander was asleep. He threw up two more times in the night. Both required linen changes. It’s so sad to see him kneeling in front of the toilet, throwing up. He said, “I wish no one ever had to get sick.”

Poor little guys.
